Why are the ticket prices so exorbitant?
When will the movie return to NYC? I was unable to attend the showing at the Apollo. Will it be distributed as a wide release soon? What about purchasing the movie on dvd? When will that be available? I’m so disappointed that I wasn’t able to see the movie.
RETURN TO NYC…..WHEN? WHERE?
I would love to see this movie, but live on the west coast. Will it make it out here? Or will it be for sale? I’m willing to buy it if so, please keep me posted on it’s progress.
Best,

Sounds like a very intriguing documentary. I’ve always been passionate about black girls, black women (especially) of darker skin, appreciating and honouring our true beauty. I trust that this documentary will not victimize darker skin women but enlighten us and others to the unique and distinct beauty we possess. Please bring this to Toronto Canada; there is a great need here.
Thank you
Can you buy tickets at the door?
I tried to see the film in Oakland, CA last year, but it sold out. When will it come to Houston, TX. I’d love to see it! My friends who saw it, loved it! Can’t wait to see it.

COME TO RIGHMOND, VA……….. PLEASE
PLEASE let us know when you will be back in the DC Area. I would like to see the film but am just hearing about your showing in DC today. Can’t make it.
I’d love to help you organize a screening in Tampa. I not only have an event planning company but I am affiliated with one of the graduate chapters of delta sigma theta and we can get a large group to come out and support. Please contact me if you are interested.
I live in ft lauderdale, fl. Will you be showing the film here and when? Though the climate is great, our people are dead down here. I’d be the first in line to buy tickets and I’d encourage every black soul I know to attend.

Please tell me you will be coming to South Florida very soon. I would love to see this movie. So please let me know when you guys will be down here in the ft.lauderdale or miami area. Thank you!!!
Please bring the movie to Austin, TX.
Hey,
I have been following this film for some time now and think its most appropriate that this film and after conversation come to the City Of Boston. As a young black male, and Morehouse College Graduate the trend of placing light skin women over dark skin black women among my peers is very high.
A lot of Black Men think that there is a prestige associated with having a light skin women and only will talk to a dark skin women for sport or as a last resort. The irony behind “the dark girl experience” is that dark men are subject to the same emotional trauma and grow up with the same self esteem issues most black people that do not love themselves grow up with.
At the end of the day if you have no self love and your family does not tell you that your smart and beautiful and that you can conquer the world you will never believe in yourself or your people. From my experience light skin people are subject to all types of jokes and sometimes grow up wanting to be darker as if dark skin tone is an affirmation to being black race.
At the end of the day this is a psychological disorder that black people use to divide each other among themselves. To truly believe Black is Beautiful and be Black and Proud is to believe that Black is not limited to darkness yet darkness is black in at its best. No longer can we allow such a trivial issue effect the way we perceive each other on a grand scale. Its 2012 and Black it seems that Black People have become more overtly discriminatory towards each other than “the oppressor”. Moving forward we need to remember what Lawrence Fishburne eloquently said at the end of the classic 1980′s film School Daze and do better. WAKE UP!!!!!!

I would love to see this film in California (Los Angeles), especially at the Pan African Film & Arts Festival next month.
I’m an Behavioral Specialist for Memphis City Schools and Sponsor of the Melrose Charmettes (an organization for high school young ladies). I would love to bring this documentary to Our middle and high schools young ladies, whom are indeed in search of themselves.
Please advise when this film will be screened/ marketed on the west coast –
particularly in the larger markets, e.g. Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area where I live.
Where is Philadelphia, PA? Please bring a screening to Philly. Besides, it is conveniently located between New York and Washington DC.
For years this has been a pet peeve, as I too grew up in the 50′s-6o’s experiencing the same kind of negative sterotypes about skin color. Unfortunately, 30-40 years later, while working with elementary age girls, I was appalled to learn they still used the same criteria when selecting the opposite sex. “I don’t like him, he too dark.” I say all this to say, I’m hopeful this documentary will be scheduled for showing in New Jersey. Thank you.
Congrats on getting this film made. I’m from Oakland originally, currently livng in the Dallas area. When will this film be screened on this side of the country? It needs to be in every city, town, and villiage. I realize it’s expensive, but please try to make it available to as many people of color as possible. I’m anxious to see what you do next. Thanks.
hello!
congratulations that it happened! i am so excited! the big question is how can we get Dark Girls on the westcoast?! i am in portland, or and work at a high school with students of every hue. i would so like to expose them to the film. i would also like to see it with my sister friends and have a discussion group after viewing. i am “light, bright, damned near white” and am excited about the stirrings i hear about a film about light skinned girls. we so need to talk about these issues that are indicative of our collective colonized mindsets.
anyway! thanks so much and i am anxious to see the film!

Please come to Memphis,TN!! I believe that it is so important that the youth of my fair city to see this and to understand the issues that surrounds them. I , being an African American, have seen and heard all the prejudices inside the African American community especially prejudices that deal with complexion of ones skin. So please please please come to Memphis.
Hello,
I love the trailer and heard about the movie on KissFM in New York. I was not able to make it to the Apollo and was wondering if the film would make its way to New Jersey, Newark, specifically. Thank you in advance.
when will you be showing in New York City?
This is very frustrating being unable to confirm that I have tickets to see the film dark girls at The fountain of Praise in Houston Texas. I responded the minute I recieved the email. At that time it did not say sold out. I requested 10 or 12 tickets. Event was free, but Tickets were needed. Please advise as to confirmation of tickets. I did recieve a confirmation but it did not say how many tickets. Please respond.
Hello I just heard about this movie through the TV One Rowland Martin show. I would only hope that you can make a stop in Houston, TX where this movie can be shown to others like myself. I want to see the rest of the film.
come to tampa
I was called so many names I can’t even count them. By family, by friends, all through elementary and high school. I looked for college to be different…but then the skin color thing was applied to on campus sororities. A can’t wait to see your movie. Hope it hits distribution soon!
We are so impressed that you have chosen to place a spot light on this subject matter that is crippling our young women. I’m over 70 and you can believe nothing has changed from the days when I was growing up. Darker skinned young women in many cases hate themselves because of their skin color and its heart breaking. We’d like this film to be shown in Seattle, WA. I’d like to know are we going to be able to see the documentary here?
Will there be a showing in the Dallas TX area?
Will there be any other showings?
Bring this movie to Charlotte, NC let me know when.
Charlotte, NC would be a great place for a showing of the film. A large and diverse audience during CIAA week Feb Feb 28-Mar 4 2012
I would have like to attend. If you are passing through again, please alert me. New York is preferable, but Baltimore and DC might work as well.
Will the movie be showing in Atlanta?
When are coming to Newark, New Jersey?
When are you coming to Newark, N.J.?
Good morning,
My friends an our are located in the Washington, DC area and were disappointed that there was only one showing scheduled for our area. It was only a few days before the showing when we heard about it and were unable to attend. Are there any plans in the near future to have another showing in our area?
Thank you,
I can’t wait to see the movie.
Wow! Did I just miss the showing here in Baltimore? Are returning for another showing here or in DC.?
When is the film coming to Detroit!
I would like to know if there would be another screening in the DC, MD, VA, PA area as I was unable to make the Jan. 20th screening due to a family emergency. If so can you please let me know when and where. Thanks
When will Dark Girl be coming to Chicago.
I love all Women of Color, not matter what shade they are. i do believe that all women should be treated as indivuals and not as a whole. I have dated some very lovely women of color and I can only say if you limit yourself to a certain shade, well you are cheating yourself out some very lovely ladies.
When will this documentary come to Los Angeles? I am anticipating it arrival.
Please bring this film to the Inland Empire – San Bernardino County and Riverside County, located in Southern California.
I would love to advocate for this movie to be brought to us in Cali.
Thank you!
When is the film coming to Dallas, Tx or any part of Texas? I would love to see this film!!!!!!
When is the film coming to Chicago?
Will this movie be showing anywhere in Canada? The AMC in Montreal, Quebec is a great place that brings in documentaries and “foreign” films
Dark Girls is a must for the Metro Atlanta area.

This film NEEDS to be seen by all who claim to be human. This film is long overdue and I, for one, can not wait to see it when it comes to Washington, DC.
Hats off to the film makers!
Would love for the film to come to Tampa, Fl. I know many who will support it !
Please bring this movie to Las Vegas, Nevada.
I want to purchase this film. Will there be dvd’s available anytime soon? You need to bring this to Atlanta.
Hope it will come to Boston, MA!!!
